Go Green/ Save Green-Bottled Water
Bottled water is a seven billion dollar industry that keeps growing.

Published: We all love water and in recent years, we have come to love bottled water. It’s a seven billion dollar industry that keeps growing. So how can we reduce greenhouse gases and save money? There are several easy ways that you can do it.

According to the Container Recycling Institute, more than 30 billion units of bottled water are sold each year and 50 billion plastic bottles, including water and other drinks, are wasted. That’s a lot of trash that is added to our nation’s landfills. Bottled water is so popular that it is now the number two most popular drink behind soda.

The best way to save money and the earth is to drink tap water. I know what you’re thinking, “Tap water tastes bad and it’s not filtered.” Well actually, according to thinkoutsidethebottle.org, 40% of the water in bottles comes from tap water.

So here’s what you can do to Go Green and Save Green. Instead of spending over 800 dollars a year on cases of bottled water, just buy a few reusable containers and fill up the water from your tap.

If you still don’t like the taste of your tap water, try a water filtration system. With the pitcher and reusable cartridges, it’ll run you about 50 bucks. That way, you can save money and do your part to help Go Green/Save Green.
